Student Design Competition on Engineering Innovation for Society

$10,000 prize to winning team, $4000 to second and $2000 to third place teams

Undergrad students interested in innovating new products/devices/solutions to real world problems of the disabled are encouraged to apply.

 

Application period is from Friday Nov. 1 to Monday December 2, 2019. After that time, selected applicants will be invited to register. If interested, please apply at https://tinyurl.com/y66sm97n

Eight teams of 4 students will compete. Teams will be formed at the competition on a random basis, subject to the restrictions below.

Applications are on an individual basis. Students must be currently enrolled students at a 4-year college in a STEM field. Multiple students from a given university are encouraged to apply but no two will be on the same team.

 

Once all applications have been reviewed and students been selected to participate a $50 deposit will be required which will be returned at the beginning of the Competition.

A travel honorarium, lodging provided at the local Hilton Garden Inn (two persons per room), and meals provided to all participants.

To determine the winners, projects will be evaluated both on conceptual design and prototyping, ac-cording to a provided rubric.

A document of IP policy is available. In short IP will be owned by the creators. The detailed document will be posted as soon as possible.
