Teach Python to High School Students This Summer! Paid Opportunity!

BU LERNet is currently seeking a student to teach Python during Codebreakers, a summer program that introduces cyber security to 24 young women who will be sophomores or juniors in high school this coming fall. This program itself takes place from July 8 to August 2, 2019 and run M-F from 9-3. Coordinators are paid for the four weeks of the program, plus additional two weeks prior to the start of the program for preparation. Lunch is also provided each day for coordinators.

Three coordinators share the responsibility for preparing and delivering all of the curriculum. They also plan one or two field trips and invite a variety of guest speakers. Curriculum lessons developed during the last three summers are available for coordinators to use, expand, or build upon. The first week of Codebreakers exposes students to programming in Python, and the next three weeks focus on Cryptography and Network Security.  We are currently seeking a coordinator proficient in Python who would be responsible for teaching the first week+ of the program. During the remainder of the program, this individual will provide one-on-one assistance to the students.

The position pays $500/week, or $3000 for the six-week commitment.  Both undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to apply.
